Answer engines reward content they can parse with confidence. Structured data (JSON-LD) is the most direct way to give them that — it states, unambiguously, who you are and what you offer, instead of making them guess from prose.
The schema that earns citations
- LocalBusiness (or the most specific subtype) — name, address, phone, hours, geo, URL.
- Service — each service you offer, in plain terms.
- FAQPage — the exact questions customers ask, with concise answers engines can quote.
- Review / AggregateRating — your reputation, made machine-readable.
- BreadcrumbList & Organization — context and identity across the site.
Common mistakes
- Markup that doesn't match what's visible on the page.
- Generic Organization where a specific LocalBusiness subtype would say much more.
- FAQ schema with marketing fluff instead of real answers.
- Forgetting sameAs — the links that connect your profiles into one entity.
